Dargan Institute book on ‘Digital First Communities’ presented to Amaryllis Verhoeven
Another day, another country on my hashtag#DigitalFirstCommunities awareness raising journey. I am in Brussels now promoting Dargan Institute clg, Dún Laoghaire's framework for vibrant localities as part of the answer to the twin green and digital transitions that are being tackled by the European Commission.
I was delighted to present my book 'Digital First Communities - A better way to live and work in the 21st century' to the European Commission's Amaryllis Verhoeven, Head of Unit, Digital Transformation of Industry at European Commission, DG GROW. I was attending the European DIGITAL SME Alliance's Annual Assembley
Amaryllis observed that there are many 'not yet' digital SMEs in traditional sectors and then there is the other side, the thousands of digital SMEs across Europe. She commented that the EU needs these two groups to engage for the green and digital transitions to be successful, the enabling power of digital is essential to making SMEs more sustainable in every sense.
And now I'm heading home to DunLaoghaireTown.ie to get started on our online hashtag#Christmas campaign for local small businesses!
